If your phone has been exposed to water but is still working, it doesn’t mean it’s safe. Water damage often starts quietly. Corrosion can develop inside the device hours or days later, slowly affecting the motherboard, battery, and connectors. By the time symptoms appear, the damage is often more serious and harder to reverse.

Continuing to use a water-exposed phone can make things worse. Charging it, using it while it heats up, or letting moisture sit inside the device can cause sudden failure. Many phones that “worked fine” after water exposure shut down unexpectedly days later, sometimes without warning.
Bringing your phone in as soon as possible gives it the best chance. Early diagnostics allow us to dry, clean, and assess internal components before corrosion spreads. Even if a full repair isn’t needed right away, early inspection can prevent data loss and save the device from permanent damage.
If you suspect water exposure, power the phone off and do not charge it. Bring it in as soon as you can. Acting early can make the difference between a simple fix and a device that can’t be recovered.
